Chlorine scrubber
System for chlorine gas neutralisation
Packed scrubbers are versatile, reliable systems that have been specially developed for the neutralisation or scrubbing of chlorine gas in emergencies. Our systems can be adapted to suit our customer requirements and specifications as a matter of course. Since different countries have different standards and health and safety requirements, we can adapt our delivery accordingly. The systems are delivered as CKD components to enable economical transport to the installation location where they can be assembled with ease. The systems can also be delivered completely pre-fitted upon request.
Features & Benefits
- The air polluted by chlorine gas is drawn in to the lower section of the scrubbing tower via negative pressure and drawn vertically upwards (1-stage chlorine scrubber) or led through a second section (2-stage chlorine scrubber)
- The cleaned air is blown out upwards via a fan
- A circulation pump sprays the neutralisation liquid in the opposite direction to the air flow
- In the scrubbing tower, the air polluted by chlorine gas is neutralized through absorption of the washing fluid
- Before leaving the chlorine scrubber, the cleaned air (pure gas) passes through a demister in which the droplets of fluid are removed
- Optionally, an additional motorised exhaust air flap on the output of the chlorine scrubber allows the air to return into the building
