Ensuring constant motive water pressure
Motive water sets are pre-assembled fittings in various configurations that are used in conjunction with booster pumps to guarantee a constant supply pressure for chlorinators. The most important part of the motive water set is the pressure reducing valve. It equalises all pressure fluctuations of the booster pump that occur due to a changing supply pressure or due to changing withdrawal from several connected dosing systems.
The pressure reducer is always equipped with an integrated strainer and a pressure gauge that indicates the reduced pressure. In addition to the standard version with an attached shut-off valve, a version with an additional solenoid valve or motorised ball valve can also be supplied. This version is required if the supply to the injector is to be shut off without the booster pump being stopped at the same time.
A version with an additional PVC non-return valve is often used to prevent chlorinated water from reaching the fittings when the system is shut down.
