Processing of waste water in wastewater treatment plants

To the products

The purification of industrial and municipal wastewater comprises a number of steps such as sieving, filtering, biological treatment and the control of chemical processes. Lutz-Jesco products are thus used for several dosing and control steps during the treatment of process water, including:

Removal of phosphates from the waste water by means of coagulants

Iron or aluminium salts can be used to initiate a precipitation reaction to remove phosphate particles from water. These bind phosphate residues from cleaning agents and detergents so that they can be filtered from the wastewater as sludge. Dosing pumps perform sterling service in this respect. Ingenious dosing technology accessories allow the most diverse wastewater plant requirements and conditions to be mastered.

Application of flocculants

Polyaluminates are added to the wastewater – either in liquid form via Jesco dosing pumps or as a powder via dry material feeders – to increase the size of precipitates and encourage their concentration.

Nutrients for bacteria

Especially in cold months or when the level of water contamination is low, the decomposing and specially bred bacterial strains in the wastewater treatment plant require additional nutrients. These are continuously supplied by dosing pumps, for example in the form of methanol.

ChlorStop
The purpose of the ChlorStop pressure safety shut-off valve is to interrupt the chlorine gas supply or the chlorine gas outlet directly from a chlorine tank immediately after a chlorine alarm or the detection of excess pressure (e.g. by the PLUS safety blow-off valve). ChlorStop is mounted directly on the tank valve. An electromagnet closes the valve within a very short time. This ensures a high level of safety and prevents further chlorine gas leaks. Features & advantages Interruption of the chlorine gas supply directly from a chlorine tank valve Shortest closing time due to electromagnets Direct connection e.g. possible for a chlorine vacuum regulator Suitable for gaseous chlorine Optional control unit for simultaneous closing of up to 12 valves Simple commissioning Simple and space-saving installation Low maintenance effort for chlorine gas in accordance with DIN EN 15363 and 937
